KremsAlarm is the flood warning app for Kremsmünster.
It is the predecessor app of "level alarm". See https://play.google.com/store/Apps/details?id=at.pegel alarm.app
It helps users become aware of potentially dangerous water levels in order to be able to react early on. The app loads the current level level of the Krems at regular intervals and raises the alarm when the warning peg is exceeded. An audio signal, vibration alarm and a message on the screen are issued.
The app also allows interactive browsing through historical level data.
Since the last version there has also been a widget for the homescreen to always know about the current level - without having to start the app!
Advantages:
* Push-instead-pull: Data is delivered/displayed exactly when they are needed. Repeated manual calling a website is not necessary.
* Easy expandability for measuring stations across Austria
* Permanent availability
* Warning level height, the update frequency (UA) can be determined by the user
* Very low data/battery consumption
Kremsalarm allows preventive flood protection for every citizen based on freely available data!
